Brisbane's subtropical climate is made for outdoor living. At DG. Gardens, we design and build bespoke outdoor living spaces that blur the boundary between inside and out — creating rooms that are as comfortable, functional, and beautifully finished as any interior space. From covered alfresco kitchens and outdoor dining rooms to fire pit lounges and resort-style entertaining areas, we craft outdoor spaces that become the heart of your home.
A covered alfresco area is the most valuable addition you can make to a Brisbane home. We design and build custom pergolas, shade sails, and solid roof structures that provide year-round protection from Brisbane's sun and rain. Integrated with a premium outdoor kitchen — featuring stone benchtops, built-in BBQs, bar fridges, and sink — your alfresco becomes a true outdoor room that extends your living and entertaining space dramatically.
A fire feature transforms an outdoor space from a functional area into a destination. We design and build custom fire pits, gas fire tables, and integrated fireplace walls that create a focal point for outdoor entertaining. Paired with premium outdoor furniture, weather-resistant rugs, and landscape lighting, a fire lounge creates an irresistible outdoor room that's enjoyed year-round.
The most successful outdoor living spaces feel like a natural extension of the home's interior. We work closely with architects and interior designers to ensure that the materials, finishes, and proportions of the outdoor space are in perfect harmony with the home. From matching stone benchtops and timber ceilings to integrated lighting and audio systems, every detail is considered to create a seamless transition from inside to out.
Outdoor kitchen costs at DG. Gardens range from $15,000 for a basic built-in BBQ and benchtop package to $60,000+ for a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with stone benchtops, integrated appliances, bar fridge, sink, and custom cabinetry. The cost depends on the size, materials, and appliances specified. We provide a detailed fixed-price quote after a design consultation.
In Brisbane, covered structures attached to the home (such as a pergola or alfresco) may require a building approval depending on their size and proximity to property boundaries. Structures under 10m² are generally exempt. DG. Gardens manages the entire approval process on your behalf, including preparing and submitting the required documentation to Brisbane City Council.
For Brisbane's subtropical climate, we recommend 316-grade stainless steel appliances, engineered stone or natural stone benchtops, and powder-coated aluminium or hardwood timber cabinetry. These materials are selected for their durability in humid, outdoor conditions. We avoid materials that are prone to corrosion, fading, or warping in Queensland's climate.
