Our Process

From First Conversation
to Final Stone.

Our process is designed to make creating a premium landscape as considered and enjoyable as the result. Six clear stages. No surprises. A design-build experience that respects your time, your investment, and your vision.

Week 1–2

Design Consultation

Discover our end-to-end landscape design & construction process. From initial consultation through 3D design, construction to handover. Brisbane's premium landscaper.

We'll discuss your investment range, timeline, and what success looks like for you. We'll share relevant examples from our portfolio and be honest about what's achievable. If we're the right fit, we'll move forward together.

Week 3–6

Concept Design

Our designers develop a concept that responds to your brief, your site, and the architecture of your home. We present a concept plan, material palette, and planting direction — enough to see the vision clearly before committing to the detail.

We present the concept in person, walk you through every decision, and invite your feedback. This is a collaborative process — the design should feel like yours, not ours. Refinements are expected and welcomed.

Week 6–10

Design Development

Once the concept is approved, we develop the design to construction-ready documentation. Detailed plans, sections, material specifications, planting schedules, lighting layouts, and irrigation design — everything needed to build with precision.

We coordinate with your architect, builder, and any other consultants to ensure seamless integration. Every detail is resolved before construction begins — because changes on site are expensive and compromise the design.

Pricing & Approval

We provide a detailed, transparent construction quote based on the approved design. No hidden costs. No vague allowances. You know exactly what you're getting, what it costs, and how long it will take.

We discuss the quote line by line, answer every question, and work with you if adjustments are needed. Once you're satisfied, we formalise the contract and schedule the construction start date.

Construction

Our own team builds the landscape to the approved design. We manage the site, coordinate with other trades, and maintain clear communication throughout. You'll know what's happening every week — no surprises.

We take genuine pride in the quality of our construction. The joint between two stones. The alignment of a hedge. The finish on a corten edge. These details are what separate a good garden from an extraordinary one.

Post-completion

Handover & Aftercare

On completion, we walk through the finished garden together, explain the care requirements for every plant and system, and hand over all documentation. This is the beginning of your garden's life — not the end of our involvement.

We remain available after handover for questions, seasonal advice, and any follow-up work. Many of our clients become long-term relationships — we're invested in your garden looking extraordinary in year ten, not just on handover day.

Questions

Before You Reach Out

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, we'd love to hear it in person.

We work on projects from $100,000 upward. Our core range is $100,000–$500,000 for residential projects and $250,000+ for multi-residential developments. This ensures every project receives the design attention and construction quality it deserves.

Our primary focus is Brisbane and South East Queensland. We consider projects further afield on a case-by-case basis, particularly when working with architects or builders we have existing relationships with.

Absolutely — we work best as part of a broader design team. We have established relationships with many of Brisbane's leading architects and builders, including CPAC Constructions, Toscani Builders, AGLA, and Prandium Studios.

We offer both. Our preference is to design and build — it produces the best outcomes because the vision is never lost between disciplines. But we can provide design-only documentation for clients who have their own construction team.

Without considered design, outdoor spaces tend to become disconnected from the architecture, underperforming in both aesthetics and function. Homes with professionally designed landscapes typically see 15–20% higher property valuations — and more importantly, the space actually gets used and enjoyed.

Yes. DG Gardens holds QBCC Licence 15463129. All our construction work is fully licensed and insured. We're also ABN registered (92 683 968 710).
